Recognition and Procedural Agreement

1.         Definition Of Terms

In this Agreement: -

CTA  - refers to Chorley Taxi Association LTD

Trade  - refers to all members joined

Taxi   - refers to both hackney/private hire and taxi operators

Stakeholders   - refers to third party such as Police, Council, Lancashire County Council 

2.         Commencement Date

 2.1 The commencement of this agreement is based on the date of the trade member's first payment.

3.         Objectives and General Principles

 3.1        Acceptance of services shall be deemed to be acceptance of these conditions of service and satisfied with becoming a member. CTA endeavor to represent the members and to provide support were deemed fit within the resources available.

3.1.2 The purpose of this agreement is to determine recognition and representation within the organisation and establish a framework for consultation and collective bargaining. CTA are able to provide support to licensing issues to the drivers who have a Taxi license or a operator’s license within Chorley. Members outside of the jurisdiction maybe declined.

3.2      Members must have identified common objectives they wish to pursue and achieve. These are:

3.2.1     to establish a relationship of mutual respect, support, and partnership with CTA.

3.2.2    to provide effective and prompt resolution of issues and disputes.

3.3       CTA will support and provide guidance to protect the interests of its trade. All information discussed will be kept private and confidential. All members must adhere to keep information private and confidential.

4.         CTA Meetings and Other Facilities

 4.1        Meetings of members will be held and there shall be no restriction on the frequency or duration of such meetings.  All meetings held will be private and confidential.

4.2       The following matters shall be the subject of consultation and negotiation: -

  • Taxi licensing issues

  • Council related matters

  • Trade issues

  • Any other item which both sides agree to refer

4.3       CTA agree that it is in the interests of all parties that consultation with the stakeholders and negotiations are carried out expeditiously and with the aim of reaching an agreed settlement. Agreed settlement within the boundaries of licensing conditions.

5.         Payment and Price

 5.1        Payment is to be made via faster payment, credit or debit card unless otherwise agreed.  All credit card companies now require address verification (your credit card billing address) on all   transactions. An incorrect billing address will result in a delayed or cancelled order.

6.         Membership Card

6.1 Membership will be issued after joining. If the membership is cancelled the card must be returned within 7 days to CTA.  If the card is not returned, £10 will be charged each month until the return of the card.

6.2 In the event of the membership card is lost or stolen, CTA will need to be Informed immediately, any replacement card is issued at £5.70.

7          Cancellation and Refund

7.1        The trade has a 14-day cancellation period. If you wish to cancel outside the 14-day cooling off period, then no refund will be given. CTA has the right to terminate membership or refuse membership.
