We support licensed taxi drivers through membership services, training and community initiatives
-
Support
We support taxi drivers and provide when it comes to council-related issues they may face. Our team of experts are knowledgeable, advocating for their rights and providing valuable advice. We are committed to bringing about positive change and ensuring that the voices of our drivers are heard.
-
Chorley Town Radio Circuit
The security team in Chorley can be contacted directly by taxi drivers, enabling them to promptly evaluate the situation. Our instant communication system through the local radio allows us to stay connected with our surveillance team. Additionally, we are part of the Chorley closed circuit, which includes other businesses facing similar challenges, thereby aligning our interests.
-
Protection
The Chorley CCTV team is actively partnering with CTA to ensure safety. With 148 cameras strategically placed across Chorley, our aim is to prevent crime and provide a secure environment for taxi drivers. The Chorley Council has invested £1M in advanced surveillance technology, prioritizing the protection of the public and supporting the taxi industry. In the upcoming month, we will be working closely with drivers to develop a plan, allowing them to park under the cameras in case of emergencies.

-
Chorley Council
Chorley Taxi Association cares deeply about listening to our members and speaking up for them. Instead of making decisions for drivers, we give them a voice at meetings with the local Council and other important groups. Our main goal is to support our members, share their views, and build good relationships with the Council to make things better for everyone.
-
Police
CTA collaborates with the local police, which consist of officers committed to serving their community. These teams are composed of officers stationed in the area, with the support of other officers from nearby regions. This approach enables the teams to identify sustainable solutions to local issues.
-
Lancashire County Council
Our main goal is to work closely with the regulation and enforcement manager of Highways and Transport to guarantee the availability of sufficient parking bays on the Rank. This will greatly assist the trade and enhance convenience for customers.
-
Local Taxi Updates
Our members at CTA are renowned for their commitment to sharing the most current local information, which directly influences our local trade operations in Chorley everyday. Being a part of the Chorley Taxi Association means you are never working alone.
-
Driver Backup
In the event of encountering a customer who becomes violent, one may often ponder about the potential consequences. It is crucial to promptly inform the group by sharing your location and requesting assistance by typing "help". CTA drivers, with whom we have a mutual agreement, will swiftly come to your aid. Additionally, it is advisable to contact the police for further assistance.
